Monsanto sues farmer for exploiting loophole in GMO licensing

The following is an excerpt.

WASHINGTON — Vernon Hugh Bowman, a free-market capitalist and Indiana farmer, exploited a loophole in Monsanto’s licensing scheme of patented GMO soybeans, a loophole allowing him to buy the seeds from farmers rather than Monsanto directly. Now, Monsanto is suing the Indiana farmer for the unauthorized use of its patented technology, namely the Roundup resistant soybean seeds.
