Debate over GM crops heats up in Tanzania

Pelum Tanzania Country Coordinator, Mr Donat Senzia told ‘Daily News’ that local activists opposing genetic engineering are agents of European activist organisations which are defending their agrochemical factories.

He said in fact genetic engineering is also a subject being advanced by agrochemical manufacturing companies because they expect to sell more chemicals as African farmers move to Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs).
