A parent will do whatever it takes to save their child’s life.
For Rob and Cindy Harris, it means having a second baby to cure their nine-month-old son, Ryven, of a disease that will slowly kill him. In what doctors believe is a medical world-first, a team at Sydney IVF clinic, Genea, have developed a test to produce a healthy embryo to be implanted into Mrs Harris.
It’s hoped the newborn’s cord blood will help rid little Ryven of Wiskott-Aldrich Syndrome (WAS) – a rare, inherited condition that weakens the body’s immune system.
