Nigeria: GE foods for sale by 2015, minister says

The following is an edited excerpt.

The Minister of Science and Technology, Prof Ita Ewa, said at the weekend that GE foods will start selling in the country by 2015.

Prof Ewa, who disclosed this at the launching of International Service for the Acquisition of Agric-biotech Application (ISAAA) in Abuja, said Nigeria would join South Africa, Burkina Faso, Egypt and Sudan in commercializing biotech/GM crops in 2015.
