Faced with the the prospect that there were not enough votes on the Kauai County Council to overturn Mayor Bernard Carvalho Jr’s veto of the anti-GMO Bill 2491, bill supporters led by Gary Hooser moved for a recess. Hooser argued that a “decision of this magnitude warrants the time to make a proper decision.” The council approved the recess 4-2. After choosing a new council member, the veto debate will resume on Saturday, November 16.
