The annual report by agricultural economists Graham Brookes and Peter Barfoot, drop experts with the international consulting firm PG Economics, is a helpful resource to understand the developing impacts of agricultural biotechnology. Each peer-reviewed report contains substantial information about crop use, yields, production statistics, and ag input use worldwide. It is a tremendous resource for hard data for discussing crops and the crop protection chemistries used. This podcast features an interview with Brookes, the lead author of the report. University of Florida plant scientist Kevin Folta discusses international technology adoption, pesticide use, weed control, carbon benefits and effects on land use.
