Robert Saik discusses upcoming documentary project ‘Know GMO’

The GLP aggregated and excerpted this blog/article to reflect the diversity of news, opinion and analysis.

Robert Saik is an agriculture consultant and agrologist. He is currently working on making Know GMO, a full length feature documentary about what GMOs really are. . . .

. . . .

Q: What is your documentary Know GMO about?

A: Know GMO is a play on words because it actually sounds for K N O W, and K N O W is do you know GMO, . . . do you really understand it. And when you talk to people a. . . and get past the rhetoric . . . you realize that a lot of people don’t really know a lot about GMO. So the movie is a global documentary. . . . [I]t really is designed to showcase the numbers of problems and challenges facing agriculture, and how genetic engineering can help make food security a reality.

. . . .

Q: Why is it important that people know this information?

A: Well what happens is if people have a preconceived notion of what GMO means and they say no, we don’t want it, then that leads to pressure to politicians which leads to bad policy. . . .
