Clear Labs–a food analytics platform for retailers and manufacturers–has released the first genetically modified organism (GMO) test based on Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) technology. Leveraging the power of their NGS platform, Clear Labs’ new offering identifies all known GMOs worldwide in a single test for a fraction of the cost of traditional Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) tests, making it the most scalable, accurate, and affordable GMO testing solution.

Clear Labs’ GMO test sets a new standard because a single NGS-based test can be used to simultaneously identify multiple GMO-related genes, offering comprehensive GMO-testing for a significant fraction of the cost. Clear Labs’ GMO test will soon allow users to quantify the percentage of genetically modified ingredients in any given product and precisely identify which ingredients in a product contain GMOs.

. . . . Food industry customers can also choose between two types of GMO tests: a comprehensive GMO test that covers over 85 percent of GMOs approved worldwide and a crop-specific, deep test that completely covers all known, crop-specific GMOs.
