EPA to hold October public meeting on its evaluation of glyphosate

There will be a 4-day meeting of the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act Scientific Advisory Panel (FIFRA SAP) to consider and review a set of scientific issues being evaluated by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regarding EPA’s evaluation of the carcinogenic potential of glyphosate, a non-selective, phosphonomethyl amino acid herbicide registered to control weeds in various agricultural and non-agricultural settings.

The meeting will be held on October 18-21, 2016, from approximately 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Comments. The Agency encourages written comments be submitted on or before October 4, 2016, to provide adequate time for the FIFRA SAP to review and consider the comments. The Agency encourages requests for oral comments be submitted on or before October 11, 2016. However, written comments and requests to make oral comments may be submitted until the date of the meeting, but anyone submitting written comments after October 4, 2016, should contact the Designated Federal Official (DFO) listed under FOR FURTHER INFORMATION CONTACT. . . .
