Canadian city hears radically opposing views on GM controversy

Two radically different takes on the issue of genetically-engineered crops were presented to Courtenay Council on Monday.

The opposing camps were out to inform and influence the City’s elected officials before they go to the Union of British Columbia Municipalities (UBCM) convention next week.

At that conference, a motion will be debated calling on the B.C. Government to declare the whole province a GE-free area.

It’s an issue that generates heat worldwide.
