Gene editing will allow us to modify those instructions in any way we want, from changing eye color to curing leukemia. Humanity has a long history of figuring out ways to modify genes, but gene editing provides us with a great leap forward. Do the benefits outweigh the consequences? Now is the time to debate its use.
