A second attempt by South Australia’s Liberal government to lift a longstanding ban on genetically modified crops has failed.
After disallowing the government’s regulations in a vote [in November], parliament’s upper house on [Dec. 10] also rejected a bid to pass legislation to end the moratorium.
The Greens and SA-BEST MPs voted with Labor to defeat the bill with Greens leader Mark Parnell urging the government to “get busy marketing our state’s GM-Free agriculture sector”.
