Of course, this idea of schools going GMO-free, or even organic, isn’t new. Food-faddists can point to the Sausalito-Marin City school district, which now only serves organic and “GMO-free food.” The problem is that Marin County is full of high-tech billionaires. … Even they couldn’t afford to make the change to organic without huge subsidies from Whole Foods and other private donors…
