Getting GM salmon to dinner table faces political hurdles

Now that the FDA has declared genetically modified salmon “as safe as food from conventional Atlantic salmon,” salmon could become more abundant and less expensive–if it can overcome the opposition of anti-biotech groups. If political opposition trumps science, North America could continue as a “dead zone” for investment in genetically enhanced animals due to the strangling effects of political red tape.
