Viewpoint: Trump’s big bet: Vaccine skepticism and Tylenol scare will cast as a defender of MAGA parents

The vaccine skepticism espoused by Trump and Kennedy is out of step with the views of many Americans and carries political risks, but it resonates with many of Trump’s supporters, something the president is aware of.

While Democrats decried Trump’s telling pregnant women to not take Tylenol—one of the few pain-relief options available to pregnant women—his supporters saw him as taking on a pharmaceutical company, something he has pledged to do.

“The courage that he has shown to look at the root cause of why we are so sick has never been demonstrated by any other president,” said Vani Hari, known as the Food Babe and a leader in the MAHA coalition. 

A group of parents have long hoped for answers to why their children are autistic, but they also want to see their children accepted and receive government resources, much of which have faced cuts by the administration.
